#N/A Wiki Loves Monuments is a volunteer-led Wikipedia project supported by media partners from around the world, encouraging people to help out by documenting and contributing maps of monuments from their own countries. Wiki Loves Monuments is a partnership with the World Monument Fund, a registered charity in England with a focus on protecting and recording World Heritage sites. It was founded in 2013 by Wikimedia Spain at the request of the World Monument Fund. With this cooperation, Wiki Loves Monuments has been able to expand its activities into other communities around the world. The 2017 edition took place in Armenia, Czech Republic, Israel and the Palestinian territories, Poland and Spain. The World Monuments Fund is a North American non-profit, independent international organization that supports preservation projects around the world. 2015 saw the launch of Wiki Loves Monuments in the UK as part of a partnership with Wikimedia UK. The project was organised as a collaborative challenge between participants from multiple locations across the United Kingdom, with Wales being particularly active. Contributors were challenged to record blogs on six different monuments from their locality, and those entries with the most views by December 31 would win a prize.
